Travel Guides … but not as you know them.

In January, I was finally in the right place at the right time to visit the Lifeline Bookfest in Brisbane.

This huge sale of second hand books had me entertained for hours.

I managed to snavel a few travel book bargains, including 2 of the 3 hilarious Jetlag Travel Guides.

Any production by Santo Cilauro, Tom Gleisner and Rob Sitch is guaranteed to tickle your funny bone.20160416_154425.jpg

OWPC: Blanket

This patchwork rug was made with love by my Mum for my 40th birthday. It features photos of me and my family (transferred to cloth), things I love and the 12 Days of Christmas in cross stitch which I made as Christmas cards for family over 12 years. Actually there’s only 11 of them. The quilt was made before the 12th year and I never got around to adding the last one.

Mum passed away a little over 2 years ago, but she lives on in the many beautiful quilts and other crafts she gave to so many people.

OWPC: Heartbeat benches

Jennifer’s challenge this week brought back memories of our trip to England.

We enjoyed sitting on the benches outside in the beer garden

and inside for lunch

at the Goathland Hotel – aka The Aidensfield Arms –

where we could pretend we were in an episode of Heartbeat.

One Word Photo Challenge: Barn

We tend to to call them sheds rather than barns.

We haven’t had a big wheat season for years. I can’t remember the last time this shed saw any wheat. It’s mostly used for hay storage these days.
