Emus are a common sight on the roads in western Queensland. Give them the right of way. You definitely don’t want to hit one.

From inside the lava tube we could look out at the full moon and watch some of the 300,000 microbats head out for the night. And, if you look carefully, you can see some of the snakes in the trees outside. They’re waiting to catch a bat for dinner.

I decided to share these grey-crowned babblers from our morning walk last weekend for Ailsa’s Travel Theme.
Although I like the glorious ascent in the second picture, I love the appearance of uncontrolled descent in the first one.
